Abstract

1397990 Emptying silos with penumatic aid KOCKUMS MEKANISKA VERKSTADS AB 1 Nov 1972 50334/72 Heading B8A A silo having a load relieving beam vertically above a bottom discharge opening is provided with a tubular chamber having a gas permeable wall forming a device for supplying gas to the interior of the silo. The tubular chamber is disposed parallel to and below the beam. The figure shows the bottom portion of a silo 10 having a bottom discharge opening 12, a loadrelieving beam 14 and a tubular chamber 17 comprising two portions joined at the centre of the silo by a flange 18. Sound transmitters 20 inside the tubes provide acoustically modulated pressure oscillations. The oscillated gas passes through perforations preferably in the upper portion of tubes 17 to fluidize the material in the silo in order to improve discharge.
