1,254,059. Pneumatic conveyers; unloading. G. S. IVCHENKO, A. M. BERESTOVOI, V. F. KHANCHAS, N. I. ORLITSKAYA, and A. P. NIKODIMOV. 9 May, 1969, No. 23706/69. Headings B8A and B8E. Apparatus for unloading bulk materials from a reservoir 1 includes resilient walls 2 having passageways 3 therein and secured at their upper periphery to the reservoir walls, and means for intermittently supplying pressurized air into the passageways to vibrate the walls 2 to facilitate complete discharge of the material through a door 4 in the reservoir. The crosssections of the passageways 3 vary down to a minimum adjacent the door 4, and wall sections 7 between the passageways are air permeable, as are a pair of plates 5 which extend along the bottom of the reservoir and are each connected to the walls 2 on three sides and to the reservoir adjacent the door 4 on one side. A constant supply of pressurized air is initially delivered beneath the walls 2 and plates 5 through the porous surfaces of which it passes to fluidize the bulk material to facilitate an initial discharge thereof, after which the passageways 3 are alternately inflated and deflated causing the walls 2 to intermittently bulge out into the reservoir to tip material therein towards the door 4.
