To prevent consolidation and bridging of flour in a container 1, constructed in bag form of flexible material and suspended from a frame, air is supplied periodically to the spaces between the container wall and air-impermeable covers 4, 7, 10 secured to the outer surface of the container wall. The periodic supply of air causes the wall to vibrate and also causes, if the container wall is air-permeable, fluidization of the flour.
