1288862 Pneumatic emptying of hoppers; vibrating hoppers KOCKUMS MEKANISKA VERKSTADS AB 2 Feb 1970 [3 Feb 1969] 4921/70 Headings B8A and B8S To facilitate the discharge of granular material from a hopper, an aperture in the sloping wall 11 of the hopper is covered, on the inside, by a gas-permeable frusto-conical cap 15 and, on the outside, by a frusto-conical cap 14 secured to a housing 19 carrying a pneumatic siren sound transmitter 21. The transmitter is connected to a resonator horn 22 and is actuated by compressed air supplied through a line 23. Further compressed air may be supplied to the chamber defined by the caps 14, 15 through a line 29, which may, alternatively, be open to atmosphere if air is not to be supplied to the material.
