Abstract

1393781 Mounting vehicle headlamps WIPAC DEVELOPMENT Ltd 31 Jan 1973 [4 Feb 1972] 5392/72 Heading F4R A sealed-beam vehicle headlamp is adjustably mounted in the opening 25 of a vehicle body 26 by three screws 27 (only two of which are shown), the threaded portions of which are mounted in plastics plugs 38 of square crosssection. Each screw 27 has two circumferential grooves 29 which are located within clips 30 and 31. A spacing washer 32 is provided between the clip 31 and the flange 18 of bezel 16. Alternatively (Fig. 4, not shown) the clip 31 and washer 32 are replaced by a separate unitary clip (31A). All three screws may be used for adjusting the headlamp. Alternatively one screw may be non-adjustable. The sealed-beam unit is retained in place by clips 20 secured to the flange 18 by screws 21, the clips 20 bearing against lugs 22 on the rear of the unit.
