Abstract

829,552. Vehicle lamps. RALEIGH CYCLE CO. Ltd. Oct. 29, 1956 [Oct. 28, 1955], No. 30861/55. Classes 75(3) and 75(4) [Also in Group XXXI] In a rear lamp for bicycles and like vehicles of the type comprising a one piece resilient mounting for an electric lamp and a reflex reflector, the bulb holder is so secured to the rigidly fixable securing means for the lamp that the resilience of the mounting provides resilience at the base contact of the bulb. In the form shown, a block. 11 of resilient material e.g. rubber, has recesses 13, 14 for the reflector 16 and a lamp assembly comprising a lens 19, parabolic reflector 18 and bulb holder 22. The bulb holder has a lug 21 through which a screw 20 passes and serves to secure the whole fitting on to the mudguard by nuts 23, 24. The base contact to the bulb bears on the head of a screw 29 in an extension of the block 11 passing through the mudguard 10. A lead 32 is secured to screw 29 and passes underneath the mudguard to a terminal 36, Fig. 3, passing through but insulated from the mudguard, and connected to, for example, a dynamo, the return circuit being via the mudguard and the screw 20.
