788,904. Supporting lamps. LINOLITE, Ltd. Jan. 26, 1956 [Jan. 31, 1955], No. 2894/55. Classes 75(3) and 75(4) In a lamp fitting consisting of a lampholder 5 carried by a housing having a light shield 2 which is adjustable about the axis of the lamp, the shield has a slot 7 arranged transversely of the lamp axis and a tubular spigot 10 formed on or secured to a supporting bracket 6 passes through the slot 7, has a head 9 which straddles the slot beneath the shield and carries outside the shield a releasable clamping device adapted to grip the shield between its undersurface and the head. The clamping device may be a nut 13 screwed on to the spigot or a washer urged downwardly on to the shield by a compression spring. The head 9 is formed by a pair of parallel grooves 11 in thespigot and is passed through an enlarged end portion 8 of the slot 7. An opaque plate 15 shaped to overlie snugly the shield is secured to the spigot 10 and covers the slot 7, 8 in all positions of the shield. The shield is semi-cylindrical and contains a reflector 4 to which a pair of axially spaced lampholders 5 are secured. The fitting may be supported by more than one spigot 10.
