Abstract

1,245,951. Wing mirrors. H. P. SMALLBONE. 13 Dec., 1968 [28 Sept., 1967], No. 44202/67. Heading B7J. A vehicle wing mirror comprises a reflector 12 in a housing 15 connected to a support portion 11 at one end of a one-piece pressing, moulding or casting 10, the other end being provided with a headlamp bezel 13, so that the mirror can be mounted on a vehicle body by engagement of the bezel with the headlamp mounting of the vehicle. The bezel may have an inturned flange engageable with a lug on the headlamp mounting and be secured by a nut and bolt, or it may be adjustably mounted in the headlamp mounting. A spring plate 19, nut 18, and a bolt 16 passing through an oversize hole 17 in the housing 15, serve to hold the housing frictionally against the support. In the embodiment shown the support 11 and bezel 13 are joined by an integral arm 14, but they may also be directly connected.
