Abstract

1282576 Mounting vehicle lamps DOMINION AUTO ACCESSORIES Ltd 25 Nov 1969 [26 Nov 1968] 57649/76 Heading F4R A sealed-beam lamp 14 is mounted in a housing 10 by means of a resilient ring 25 having an internal annular channel to receive the rim 12 of the housing, a lip 42 to engage the rim 45 of the lamp, and at least three inwardly-protruding lugs 40 adapted to abut against the reflecitve portion 46 of the lamp and hold it in spaced relation with the housing. Preferably there are four lugs spaced 90 degrees apart, and each extends from the bottom of the channel through a corresponding recess in the rim of the housing and is provided with two ribs (54) between which a locating projection 60 on the lamp may be engaged. The housing is secured to a vehicle by means of a mounting hemisphere 62 and a threaded shaft 63.
