Abstract

1,246,972. Vehicle lamp mounting. INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER CO. OF GREAT BRITAIN Ltd. 3 Oct., 1968 [21 Nov., 1967], No. 52909/67. Heading F4R. A vehicle lamp mounting comprises a body of deformable material with an aperture therethrough, a lamp unit having an external rim by which the unit is firmly held within the aperture in an internal annular groove in the body, the aperture diverging forwardly from the groove to a diameter larger than that of the rim and to such a distance that the lens is located wholly within the confines of the aperture and mounting means securing the body to a panel of the vehicle, the mounting means being adjustable. A sealed beam lamp unit 4 is fitted by its rim 3 into a groove 2 of a deformable body 1 of rubber or synthetic resin. Nuts 10 which are located in the body 1 enable adjustable screws 9 to secure the mounting to a steel vehicle panel 8. In another embodiment (Figs. 3 and 4, not shown) the body is provided with an external peripheral groove which engages the peripheral edge of the panel 8. The groove and panel have such a configuration that if the mounting is rotated the angle of the lamp is changed. The sealed beam lamp may be replaced by a lamp having a separate bulb.
