Abstract

1353020 Vehicle forward view mirrors R W CROCKET 23 July 1971 [23 April 1970] 19656/70 Heading B7J A forward-view mirror attachment for vehicles, comprises a framework 4, Figs. 2, and 3 for detachable attachment externally of a vehicle Fig. 4, attachment means 6 mounted on the framework 4 and adapted to embrace a free edge of an openable side-windowglass of the vehicle and thus on closure of the window firmly but detachably to secure the framework 4 thereto, and a mirror reflector 2 mounted on the framework, the mirror reflector 2 being so positioned on the framework 2 that, when the attachment means 6 are secured to the window glass with the reflector 2 located outside the windowglass, the reflector 2 is so angled relative to the plane of the windowglass that when viewed by the driver via an auxiliary mirror 14, Fig. 6 mounted within the vehicle ahead of the driver, it provides a true, unreversed forward view image of the field ahead of the vehicle. A transparent aerodynamic baffle may be provided as described with reference to Fig. 5 (not shown).
