Abstract

1317562 Rear viewing arrangement O R ARWELL 1 Sept 1970 [8 Sept 1969] 44285/69 Heading B7J In a rear-viewing arrangement for a vehicle e.g. a motor car, a first mirror 1 is mounted above and forward of the vehicle roof, and a second mirror 3 is mounted at the bottom of the windscreen 2, the mirrors being adjusted to enable the driver to see objects to the rear of the vehicle in the mirror 3, by reflection through the first mirror 1. A second embodiment (Fig. 2, not shown) has the first mirror (1<SP>1</SP>) mounted on the vehicle roof above an aperture (5), closable by a window. The mirrors may be plane, concave or convex, and the arrangement may include an optical device for inverting the image seen in the mirror 3.
