1407000 Rear-view mirrors SOC COMMERCIALE DU COMPTOIR DES INVENTIONS PRATIQUES POUR L'AUTOMOBILE 21 Dec 1972 [28 Dec 1971] 59242/72 Heading B7J A motor vehicle interior rear-view mirror 1 having a rear field of view B, which is wider than that α1 + α2 provided by conventional interior and external rear-view mirrors 13, 14, and a road level view at A2, comprises an L- shaped elongate casing 2 provided at the end, which will in use be at the near-side of the vehicle, with a short leg portion la which in use extends substantially vertically downwardly, and an L-shaped mirror reflecting glass 10 mounted in the casing 2 behind an unsilvered glass 9 fixed therein. The mirror glass 10 is pivotal between the two positions shown, by a pivoted lever 11 and held in position by abutting projections 12 on the casing part 2a, the casing being provided with end pivots 3 aligned on an axis 6, to engage bearings 4 mountable in the vehicle above the windscreen and with the axis 6 horizontal. A sun visor 8 is pivoted at 7 1 , 7 11 to the casing and when in the full line position acts with the casing 2 the same as a conventional sun visor.
