Abstract

1,021,429. Rear - view mirrors. FORD MOTOR CO. Ltd. Aug. 4, 1964 [Sept. 23, 1963], No. 31486/64. Heading B7J. An anti-dazzle solid prismoidal rear-view mirror 10 having a wedge-shaped cross-section, a highly reflective coating 12 on its rear surface and an uncoated front surface 13, is hinged at 16 to housing 15, secured to a vehicle roof 18 at 21 and housing a solenoid 31 which is connected in the vehicle headlamps circuit as described with reference to Fig. 3 (not shown) so that whenever the solenoid is energized to tilt the mirror from the position shown in Fig. 2, i.e. a day driving position, towards the housings, i.e. a night driving position, the headlamps are on.
