Exhaust-silencers.-A silencer comprises a cylinder a divided bv partitions b, b<1> into three chambers, the middle one c being a closed air chamber traversed by tubes d through which the exhaust passes. The inlet h in the end plate c is formed with a clip i to engage the exhaust pipe k, and may be arranged to receive an exhaust pipe at right-angles to the axis of the cylinder a. The end plates e, j are connected by tie-rods g, and the plate f has outlets l.
