1387433 Extensible table tops ROBERT KRAUSE KG 23 March 1972 [25 March 1971] 13573/72 Heading A4H A cabinet 1 has an extensible table top 3 consisting of three panel sections 7, 8, 9 hinged one behind the other at 21, the table top being supported in its extended position by a pair of cantilever brackets 11 extensible with the top, each bracket 11 comprising telescopically slidable tubes, the rearmost tube 12 being secured to the cabinet, the foremost tube 14 being secured to the front panel 7, and the intermediate tube or tubes 13 being freely slidable. The sections 7-9 have rollers 26-28 that run on horizontal portions 23 of fixed curved guides 22 during retracting, the rollers on the rear panel sections 9, 8 lifting off the guides at the angle 25 so that in the closed position Fig. 3 (not shown), the sections 7, 8 hang vertically. During retracting, to prevent tubes 13 from moving rearwardly beyond tubes 12 before panel sections 8, 9 hang vertically, stops 32 are provided on tubes 12. As tube 13 is moved rearwardly a projecting leg (35) Fig. 5 (not shown), of the stop 32 is received in a slot (43) at the rear end of tube 13 and prevents further rearward movement of tube 13. On further retraction, tube 14 only moves rearwardly and its rear end (47) depresses a lug 45 of stop 32, against a spring bias (42), and releases the stop, so that on further retraction, tube 13 can be moved rearwardly beyond the rear end of tube 12 Figs. 3, 7 (not shown).
