[Classes 52(iii) and 52(v)] A leaved table top is mounted upon telescopic cantilever arms extending from a box and sloping in such a way that the outside leaf slides under the adjacent leaf as the arms are telescoped, and the whole can be pivoted, to a vertical position about pivots slidable in vertical slots formed in uprights in the box and then pushed down into the box. Each arm 16-comprises three C-shaped units 30, 31, 32, with rollers 38 on the intermediate unit 31, the front leaf 1 of the table being attached to a bracket 49 fastened on the unit 32, and the rear leaf 2 to a Z-shaped bracket 33 upon the lower flange of which is fixed the unit 30, while the intermediate leaf 3 is hingedly connected to the leaf 2 and rests at its other end on a projecting portion of the bracket 49, the leaf 2 being sufficiently thick to allow the front leaf 1 to fit under the leaf 3. To collapse the table, the intermediate leaf is first tilted by mechanical means (not shown) and the front leaf slid underneath it, units 31 sliding inside units 30 and units 32 sliding inside units 31, then pivoted about rollers 17 fixed on the outside of units 30 and pushed into the box against the action of springs 24, the rollers 17 riding in vertical slots 19. The springs 24 assist the raising action, and the table is maintained horizontally by a bracing bar 25 abutting stop plates 29.
