138,314. Rocher, M. Jan. 28, 1919, [Convention date]. Addition to 131,883. Vices.-Consists in modifications of detail of the screw and cam actuated vice described in the parent Specification. (1) The fixed jaw is formed in three parts, the two outer parts A being cast on the base-plate and the central part B being fitted between them. (2) One of the followers of the cam C is a roller D mounted on a pin E, which is adapted to break under excessive strain to prevent damage to more important parts of the vice. (3) The cam is shaped to bear against the followers E, H in all positions. (4) The pivoted or other jaw face G of the movable jaw is secured in position by a screw readily accessible from above. (5) A guard K is provided to exclude filings from the operating screw.
