Abstract
137,879. Heaford, J. Dec 11, 1918. Heating water.-Means are provided in a domestic water-heater to enable only a small quantity of water to be heated when desired. The cylinder C is provided with double-walled flow and return pipes D, E, the latter extending nearly to the top of the cylinder and being provided with a valve B at the bottom. The valve is carried by a spindle G which is provided with an indicator A. The pipes are mounted on a plate H which is provided with two hinged portions H<1>, H<2> to permit its insertion through the opening in the cylinder. A rubber washer I is placed outside a flange F and an outer plate J is added. The ends of the pipes D, E are screwed as at D<1>, E<1> to receive union members L, L<1>, and washers K<1> are provided. When only a small quantity of hot water is required, circulation of the main body of water is prevented by closing the valve B.
