Abstract
227,241. Edgar, D. K. Nov. 7, 1923. Heating water.-A storage tank a for hot water supply has an auxiliary tank b within it so that it is wholly or partly jacketed by the water in the tank a and heats the water by conduction. The primary flow and return pipes c, c<1> of the boiler and the secondary flow and return pipes d, d<1> of the distribution system are connected solelv with the auxiliary tank. A cold water inlet a<1> opens into the lower part of the main tank and a connection e joins the upper part of the tank a with the lower part of the tank b. In the modification shown in Fig. 2 the inner tank is constituted by cylindrical baffle plates b<1>, b<2> attached to the bottom and top of the tank respectively, forming between them a passage e<1> which replaces the connection e, Fig. 1.
