Abstract

1378785 Hoists WILHELM LAYHER GmbH 23 March 1972 [11 May 1971] 13556/72 Heading B8H A hoist comprises a guide rail 2 formed from parallel connected side tubes connectible to a scaffold structure at a right angle to the face of the scaffold structure, and a hoist frame movable along the guide rail and consisting of two separate like parts 4, 5 located one at each side of the guide rail and detachably connected' together. Each part 4, 5 comprises a tubed structure with a base 306, hinged doors 351, 352 and rollers 312 engaging the side tubes of the rail. The two parts 4, 5 are coupled together by nut and bolt connections pulling against spacer members and by hooked connectors. The hoist frame is raised and lowered by a winch cable and pulley system 401, 402, 403. The guide rail is made up of a plurality of detachably connected rail sections. In the embodiment of Figs. 7 to 15 (not shown), the guide rail is provided with a racklike strip running along its length and engageable by a powered pinion mounted on one part of the hoist frame. A roller is provided on the hoist frame to engage one of the guide rail side tubes in the area of, and on the opposite side of the rail to, the pinion. In the embodiment of Fig. 13 (not shown), the guide rail is supported at its base on a structure adjustable to local ground level variations.
