Abstract
1340224 Ladder attachments JONSSON ALUMINIUM & STEEL ENG WORKS (PTY) Ltd 4 Aug 1971 [28 Dec 1970] 36693/71 Heading E1S A ladder, which is required to be extended or elevated against a pole 16, has attached to its upper end at least one roller 18 positioned between the stiles 12, 14 and a pair of guide arms 22, 24 extending at an angle to the plane of the rungs, the roller resting against the pole in use and the guide arms extending on each side of the pole. The roller may be mounted in the plane of the rungs, between the stiles, or it may be mounted between the guide arms, behind (as shown) or in front of the plane of the rungs; alternatively, two rollers may extend in V-formation between the stiles. The roller may be cylindrical or have a concave surface, and the guide arms may be pivoted to the stiles. A chain 30 extends between the guide arms round the remote side of the pole, to prevent the ladder falling.
