Locking nuts. - The nut e for securing a wheel hub a on an axle sleeve b is locked by a bolt g protruding under spring pressure through a hole e<2> in the nut and having an arm g' passing through another hole and carrying a tooth g<2> or small toothed quadrant which engages the teeth a<3> on the end of the hub. The bolt is actuated by a spring-pressed rod i which fits loosely in a hole in the bolt. The locking-members are dismounted from the nut by pushing the rod i against the action of its spring till the head i<2> can be held by a forked plate. The rod is then swung sideways and the bolt removed, after which the rod can be released and withdrawn from the inside of the nut.
