Abstract

1366121 Bottling &c. A-T-O Inc 21 Sept 1971 [22 Sept 1970 8 Oct 1970] 44057/71 Heading B8T [Also in Division F2] In a filler head for bottling carbonated drinks a plate 9 with apertures 11 is disposed on a hollow valve stem 4 of a liquid control valve member 3. Main and auxiliary elastic diaphragms 12, 13 close the apertures 11 in the plate 9 at the end of a filling operation under the pressure of gas in a bottle. Valve member 3 co-operates with a fixed seat 2 and the open position may be adjusted relative thereto by a rotary cam 16 acting on a stop 15 disposed on the stem 4. Central portion 15a of the stop is of neoprene. Gas passes down hollow stem 4 and tube 6 and is controlled by a valve (not shown). In another embodiment the cam 16 is dispensed with and the seat is moved relative the valve member 3 by a screw and nut arrangement.
