Abstract

1429466 Pressurized dispensing container valves PRECISION VALVE CORP 4 March 1974 [7 March 1973] 9636/74 Heading F1R The valve of a pressurized dispensing container is arranged to relieve excessive pressure in the container. The valve body 10 has a shoulder seating on the gasket 70 and below the shoulder, longitudinal grooves 36 which span the gasket if the valve body is forced through the gasket by excessive pressure. The hole 56 in the valve cup may be enlarged to accommodate this movement By selecting the diameter of the hole 56, the body diameter and the hardnesss of the gasket the relief pressure can be accurately controlled. The diameter of the valve may be reduced leaving an annular shoulder Fig. 5 (not shown).
