Abstract
1365267 Once-through boilers KRAFTWERK UNION AG 29 June 1972 [30 June 1971] 30617/72 Heading F4A A once-through boiler comprises a combustion chamber whose walls 1, 2, 3, 4 are formed from a helically coiled tube assembly and at least one vertical partition 9 formed from tube systems 10, 11; the wall tubes being bent outwardly into sets of loops 14, 15 into which the ends of the partition tubes can project to communicate with inlet distributer pipes 12, 13. All the tubes are joined by gas tight connecting webs and the partition tubes are welded to the wall tubes at 17. The embodiment shown operates with a pulverized coal firing system and a funnel shaped hopper 5 is defined by side walls 6, 7 with a slot 8 for dry ash removal. The partition 9 is preferably mounted biased upwardly by spring means to allow for expansion.
