Abstract

1,180,751. Steam generators. M. CARLONI. 17 April, 1967 [19 April, 1966], No. 17521/67. Heading F4A. A steam generator includes a boiler having a burner 2, a plurality of intercommunicating pipe nests 15, 20 connected at one end with the water supply and delivering dry steam at another end thereof and a tortuous flue pass involving the pipe nests which comprises within the boiler and at a distance from the inner walls thereof a first substantially horizontal tubular element 4 and within the first tubular element at least a substantial portion of a second tubular element 3 of smaller diameter spaced from the peripheral inner wall of the first tubular element, the first and second tubular elements having spaced substantially parallel axes. The axis of the second tubular element is downwardly spaced from the first tubular element, a plurality of annular crosswalls 6 between the tubular elements forming a plurality of expansion chambers 5 therebetween. The second tubular element has an open end far within the boiler and in communication with the flue pass and an opposite end in which the burner 2 is located for discharging flue gases through the second tubular element towards the open end thereof. A part of the plurality of pipe nests is located within the second tubular element and forms a passage for the flue gases between the pipes and another part of the plurality of pipe nests surrounds at a distance the first tubular element and forms a further passage for the flue gases between the pipes. Pipe connecting means provides communication between the expansion chambers and the pipe nests.
