Abstract

1364345 Closure assembly for liquid containers MULLSJO PLAST AB 30 May 1972 25323/72 Heading B8T A plug 1 has two intertwined screw-threads 10 and 11 engaging two screw-thread portions 13 and 14 on a sleeve 5 inserted into a container neck (not shown), each screw-thread 10 and 11 being cut away for half a turn and connected to the other screw-thread 11 and 10 by portions 12 (only one shown) and each screw-thread portion 13 and 14 extending less than half a turn and separated by gaps 15, so that the plug 1 can be screwed outwardly from its sealing position (in which plug surface 3 engages the shoulder 4 of the sleeve) to a pouring position (shown in Fig. 2) in which the plug cannot fall from the container, the plug having to be moved axially and screwed outwardly for complete removal. The plug cylinder 7 is adjustably connected to the plug part 2 by a peg 6 to provide a variable space for passage of liquid emerging from holes 9 in the cylinder 7 during pouring. Flange 17 is provided to minimize dripping.
