Abstract

136,405. Addyman, E. T. W. March 11, 1919. Spray carburettors. - The rotatable choke-tube a, the axis of which is at right-angles to that of the nozzle c, has an extraair inlet d which registers more or less during rotation of the choke-tube with an aperture in a member e mounted in an extension of the choke-tube and adjustable independently thereof from a distance. The choketube and member e are rotated by wires h, i acting in oppcrition to springs j, k, and are held in position by a cap f which is sprung into a projecting ring g. A gap may be provided around the nozzle to admit air continuously to the carburettor, and a slot may be formed in the choketube or carburettor casing to permit the engine to run on such restricted air supply when the choke-tube is closed. The apertures at opposite ends of the choke-tube may be of different shapes.
