Abstract

136,250. Ricardo, H. R. Dec. 10, 1918. Cylinders receiving liquid fuel.-In engines of the kind described in Specification 2725/15, [Class 7 (ii), Internal-combustion engines, Arrangement &c. of], fuel is drawn into the vaporizing-chamber F with a small quantity of air at the beginning of the suction stroke. It enters through the valve J and a nozzle K with lateral perforations. The fuel ceases to flow when the main air valve G is opened. The nozzle becomes heated by the flame and vaporizes the fuel.
