Abstract

1362371 Pivotable windows ARCHITAL LUXFER Ltd 17 April 1972 [29 April 1971] 12300/71 Heading E1J A window assembly comprises an inner frame 2 pivotable about a substantially central horizontal axis 3 and being vertically movable upwardly into a position where a portion 19 of the outer fixed frame 1 prevents pivoting. The inner frame has a handle 10 with a cam surface 15 which engages a sloping surface on keep 12 to raise the window. When raised, the top of the inner frame engages between flange 19 and a weathering leg 22 and the bottom is locked by flange 16 on the handle. The pivot comprises a trunnion (31, Fig. 5, not shown) on the inner frame received in a bearing 33 (Fig. 4) in a member 26 which is partly supported on a spring 40 and is slidable in the outer frame. Sliding of member 26 is limited by engagement of flange 39 on the member with keeper 38, and by stop 50. In Fig. 8 (not shown) bottom flanges (46, 49) interlock when the window is raised.
