1418939 Bobbin hangers N T N TOYO BEARING CO LTD and Z TSUKUMO 27 June 1973 [29 June 1972] 30504/73 Heading D1J A bobbin hanger, Fig. 2, comprises:- (a) an upper member E rotatably and swingably suspended from a hanger rail D; (b) a lower member F with locking members adapted to engage the inner shoulder of the axail bore of a bobbin A; and (c) an intermediate member G rotatably and swingably connected separately to both the upper and lower members E, F. In Fig. 3 the locking members H are balls 37 that tend to roll inwardly but can be biassed outwardly on lowering a spindle member 21. When a bobbin is thrust upwardly onto the hanger it abuts against a shoulder 32 and causes a movable portion J to be lifted against the action of spring means. A clutch mechanism 44 in the hanger permits the spindle member 21 to be forced downwardly on the first upward movement of the movable part J; and to be held in an upper setting on the next upward movement of the movable part J; and so on. In Figs. 9 and 10 (not shown) the balls 37 are replaced with swingable arms (38) that can be retracted into, or swung out of, the hanger. An annular member 55 is positioned between the upper member E and the lower member F so as to surround the intermediate member G to seal the pivotal connections therebetween, particularly the bearing means 19 in Fig. 3.
