Abstract

1,194,102. Wells &c. FMC CORP. 20 June, June, 1968 [16 Aug., 1967], No. 29327/68. Heading E1F. A well pipe hanger comprises a tubular body 12, a resilient ring 14 mounted on the body, and a shoulder 92 on the ring engagable with a support shoulder 94. When the weight oil the pipe 34 and hanger is taken on the shoulder 94, pins 18 holding a stop ring 16 shear and the hanger moves downwardly to prevent inward movement of the ring 14. The pipe and hanger may be withdrawn from the well, a boss 102 on the ring camming the ring inwardly and a flange 58 on the body preventing outward movement of the ring during withdrawal. The boss serves to prevent the shoulder 92 engaging shoulders other than the shoulder 94 during lowering of the hanger.
