Abstract

1380804 Revolving doors C J RUSH Ltd 28 Jan 1972 [18 Feb 1971] 4058/72 Heading E1J A collapsible revolving door comprises upper and lower mechanisms 14 rotatable about a vertical axis, means 48 releasably locking door leaves 4 to the mechanisms in an angularly spaced relationship about the axis, relative movement between the mechanisms 14 being limited only by the door leaves. The leaves 4 are secured by pin 42 to cam follower 44, the pin being movable in a slot 64 in the base 66 of mechanism 14. A spring biassed ball 74 engaging a recessed detent 76 releasably positions the follower and door leaf. When a sufficient force is applied to a leaf, cam follower pivots about the axis of pin 56, the side of the follower then engages a lobe 90 of cam 86 which projects from base 66 and the pin is caused to slide outwardly along slot 64. The leaves may thus take a parallel position. The upper mechanism is keyed to a shaft (106, Fig. 5, not shown) supported by a self aligning bearing (120) and the lower mechanism is keyed to a shaft (153) supported by tapered thrust bearing (158).
