Abstract

1431673 Hinges W SEEGER and F LAMPARTH 23 March 1973 14269/73 Heading E2F In a hinge means for a closure member (e.g. a door not shown) a first hinge member 3 supports a hinge pin 11, a second hinge member 2 is journalled on the hinge pin 11 and a stop ring 2 is mounted on the hinge pin between the first and second hinge members, the stop ring being adjustably movable around the hinge pin into a plurality of positions in which the stop ring 2 is secured against free rotation as by projections 27 engaging in grooves 26 formed in the periphery of the lower hinge member 3. Axiallyengaging stops 12 and 13 are formed on the stop ring 2 and first hinge member respectively and provide abutment surfaces during opening movement of the closure member to prevent further unresisted opening movement of the closure member. As shown, and where the ring 2 has adjustable grub screw connection with a hinge pin integral with the member 3 (Fig. 3, not shown), further opening movement is completely prevented. In Fig. 4 (not shown) a hinge pin to which the ring 2 is adjustably secured has a spring connection with the member 3 allowing further resisted opening movement. When the stops 12, 13 abut they axially enter recesses in the members 1, 3 shaped so that door closing is resisted.
