Abstract
1359641 Shutters JOHN LEWIS & CO Ltd 17 June 1971 [17 June 1970] 29446/70 Heading E1J A roller shutter assembly comprises a flexible flap 19 supported at lateral edges by arms 21 pivoted to the lower edge of roller shutter 12, projections 42 on the arms being engageable with fixed guides 44, 45. When the shutter is fully lowered, engagement of projection 42 with guide 44 tilts the flap into a vertical position. When the shutter is raised a spring 45 maintains the flap vertical until roller 43 or projection 42 enters a channel 49 in guide 45. Continued raising of the shutter causes the rollers 43 to move outwardly along channel 49 and then return, thus tilting the flap downwardly to engage the roof of a vehicle to be loaded, (position 19""). The rollers then drop from the channels and the shutter is lowered until the flap fits around the roof. The flap has an intermediate support arm 23.
