Abstract

The flexible seal (5) for windows which pivot about the central vertical or horizontal axis of the major glazing plane is basically a 'U' section (5) mounted on the frame with the inter-leg opening facing the glazing plane. One of the legs (7 or 8) either internal (8) or external (7) leg deending on whether the seal is above or below the axis of rotation) elastically deforms as the window moves into the closure position and creates a seal by its inherent elasticity, whilst the other leg remains plane to abut the glazing plane edge of the sash. The section can be fixed to the static or the mobile element of the door or window.
