Abstract

135,992. Acton, W. Dec. 30, 1918. Travelling-band filters.-A series of longitudinal suction chambers are formed at the periphery of a rotary drum, the chambers communicating by radial conduits C with passages in the axle leading to a valve I, by means of which some of the chambers are at any time released from suction. An endless band of filtering-material passes round the drum and serves as a conveyer to remove the separated solids, the solids being caused to fall form the band by a braking-roller J, and delivered to a receptacle H. The roller J may be square or grooved. The band is returned to the drum over a spring-controlled roller K. The matter to be filtered is contained in a trough F, and may also be delivered to the drum through an adjustable nozzle G. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 19600/90, 2257/91, 1591/92, 9956/98, 22871/98, 19237/01. 22852/01, 10071/04, and 120,055.
