Abstract
280,363. Greaves, H. J. Nov. 22, 1926. Strainer separators.-A separator for removing water from granular materials has conveyers G<1>, G<2> on to which are fed the materials through the ports F', F<2> in the chamber E. The conveyers are constructed of suitable straining material arranged as an endless band on end drums H<1> - - H4 with their axes parallel to the axis about which the whole machine rotates; the conveyers are driven by any suitable means. The dried solids are thrown out of the machine at the ends of the conveyers between the drums, and the liquid passes through the conveyer material to the collectors K<1>, K<2>. In the modification illustrated in Fig. 3, the straining medium M<1>, M<2> is fixed and the material is carried forward by scraper conveyers N<1>, N<2>. The Provisional Specification states that a number of conveyers of different diameters may be used in series.
