Cooking-ranges; boilers; grates.-In a combined cooking and heating stove, a boiler a of horseshoe form embraces the oven h, its intermediate portion b forming one side of the fire-space, in which is a rising and falling grate c. This grate slides in guides d and is operated by a rack and pinion e. The boiler may be formed of U-shaped tubes. The combustion products pass over and round the oven and under the air-inlet space O<x>, thus heating the air for combustion. Doors are provided to cover the whole front of the grate and ash-pit to form a closed range.
