Abstract

156,873. Coleman, C. J. Oct. 6, 1919. Heat-radiators; gas and oil heating-stoves; grates.-A heating-stove for solid, liquid, or gaseous fuel is constructed of sheet-metal panelling on an iron framing and comprises a removable fire-box 1 (shown in Fig. 5), or a gas or oil burner, fitted into a central heating-cavity, the products of combustion passing through apertures in the side walls down the outer flues 2, under the vertical webs 5, up the inner flues 2 to the apertures 7 and thence to the uptake. The grate box 1, the space above it, and the side flues are closed at the front by hinged doors, the two former together with a removable ash-pan 16 being adjusted in position to regulate the draught. The heating- cavity is surrounded by an air jacket 12 to prevent excessive heating of the thin inner walls. The fire-box 1 is made of sheet-metal stampings.
