Each coking-chamber is provided with a charging- opening and cover f and a discharging-door g. The central chamber is provided with perforations i leading to the fireplace, and the side chambers are either provided with perforations leading into the central chamber, or they are extended downwardly at the sides and provided with perforations leading into the grate. Each of the flues a is provided with a damper d, and air enters beneath the fire-place, passes around the baffle m and enters the flues a through the opening controlled by the damper h. If desired, more than three chambers may be provided having a corresponding number of heating-flues. The apparatus is stated to be applicable to cooking- ranges.
