Cooking-ranges. - A kitchen range adapted for continuous combustion is provided with a deep fire-space closed at the front by a tightlyfitting mica-panelled door e, and fitted with rocking or like fire-bars j. The ash-pit is also closed, but the door g has draught-regulators f. In a low-oven range, the fire space is enclosed by the ovens at the sides and at the back by a boiler c, Fig. 2, extending below the grate. The fire gases pass over and under the ovens b as shown, the flow under them being regulated by dampers o. In a modification, the hopper i is at the front and above the door, the chimney n leads out of the flue behind the boiler c at a considerable distance below its upper end, and the upper end of the front face of the boiler is curved forwards slightly over the fire. In Yorkshire ranges, the ovens b are replaced by fire-brick, and the top flue shown leads to the bottom oven flue.
