Abstract

1357537 Drawing MARSHALL RICHARDS BARCRO Ltd 18 Oct 1971 [19 Oct 1970] 49527/70 Heading B3P The effective diameter of a tube drawing swift is adjustable to a value either less or greater than the diameter of the drawing block. The swift includes vertical rollers 9 mounted in pivotable clevises 10 which are attached by links 12 to a rotatable ring 13. When the clevis 10 of one of the rollers 9a is pivoted by a ram 15a of an hydraulic cylinder 15, the other rollers 9 are moved by a corresponding amount. The position of the rollers 9 is controlled by the position of a cylinder ram (14a) (Fig. 3, not shown) which acts as a stop for an arm (16) on the clevis 10 of the roller 9a. The coil of tube to be drawn is supported between the rollers 9 and a side wall 3 of the swift on rollers 4, which are rotated by a motor 8 driven in synchronism with the drawing block. The tube is passed to the drawing die via guide rollers 18. The swift is movable vertically and towards and away from the drawing block.
