Abstract

1312477 Hydraulic presses VERSON ALLSTEEL PRESS CO 1 May 1970 [11 June 1969] 21066/70 Heading B5F An hydraulic press comprises a cylinder body having a large diameter open ended portion 22 connected to a small diameter portion 23 which is closed at one end, a piston body comprising a large diameter piston 25, a small diameter piston extension 26, and an intermediate diameter ram extension 27, and means are provided at both ends of the piston body for guiding longitudinal movement thereof. The ram extension 27 forms the movable platen of the press, the platen 16 being stationary. As shown, the guide means for the ram extension 27 comprises a plurality of circumferentially spaced rollers 46 adjustably mounted on brackets 34. The guide means for the piston extension 26 comprises a bushing 58 but it may comprise rollers similar to those for the extension 27. A key (55) engaging a keyway (56), Fig. 5 (not shown) in the ram extension 27 prevents rotation of the piston body.
