Abstract

1,010,848. Tube bender. PIPE BENDERS Ltd. March 6, 1964 [Dec. 7, 1962], No. 46323/62. Heading B3E. A pipe bending machine includes a narrow platform 10 supported on a stand 11, a bending former 13 mounted about midway of the length of the platform 10 for turning movement thereon, means for turning the bending former 13 including gearing 18 and a lead screw 16 carried by a bracket 17 mounted to pivot on the platform adjacent one end thereof, the lead screw 16 engaging an eccentric portion of the bending former, and a guide block 22 with pressure rollers 21, 21a, the guide block 22 being adjustably mounted adjacent the opposite end of the platform 10 and adapted to act through a pressure plate 20 to press the portion of the tube to be bent against the bending former 13 as the latter is turned. The roller 21 is mounted in a carrier 22a adjustable in the guide block 22 by means 25. The tube to be bent is clamped to the former 13 by a strap 26.
