Abstract

1,119,100. Printing apparatus. DRUCKMASCHINENWERK PLANETA VEB. 27 Sept., 1966, No. 43011/66. Heading B6C. A gripper device for use in a sheet transfer cylinder in a printing machine comprises a series of spring loaded gripper fingers 3 on a gripper shaft 2 carrying at one end lever, roller and cam means by which the shaft is operatively rotated. The device also comprises a gripper block 4 associated with each gripper. The fingers, blocks, shaft and lever, roller and cam means are all mounted as a self-contained unit on a carrier 1 which comprises a length of angle iron suitably adapted for adjustable mounting within a longitudinal gap in the cylinder. The gripper blocks 4 may be adjustably mounted on the carrier.
