Abstract

1357277 Hinged doors; door fastenings BELGISCHE WERKHUIZEN VYNCKIER GEBROEDERS 10 Oct 1972 [12 Oct 1971] 46670/72 Heading E2A A door comprises a polyonal flat body 1, at least one hinge 5 which is attached to the body and a door fastening device which comprises at least one shaft 24 rotatably arranged adjacent to a body edge in parallel relationship therewith, at least one bearing for the shaft, at least one wing 25 which is connected to the shaft for rotation therewith, and at least one operating mechanism connected to the shaft and for rotating the shaft. The wing or wings extend substantially from one end of the adjacent door edge to the other interrupted only by the shaft bearing or bearings and the operating mechanism or mechanisms. As shown the shaft 24, in end bearings 27, is non-rotatably secured to a sleeve 21 by means of a rib 23 and groove 26 connection, the sleeve having two teeth 22 either one of which may engage in one or other of two grooves formed in a slide 13 reciprocated, to rotate the shaft, by the turning of an eccentric 17 working in a recess 16 in the slide, the eccentric being secured to a shaft 18 carrying a handle 20. The shaft carries the wings 25 which are formed with thickened end portions 31 which, in the door closed position, engage the flange 36 of a case or box 34.
