Abstract

1355442 Electro-photography FUJI PHOTO FILM CO Ltd 11 Oct 1971 [12 Oct 1970] 47302/71 Heading G2H A liquid developer comprising toner particles dispersed in an insulative carrier liquid contains a copolymer of a half-C 6-24 alkylamide of maleic acid and diisobutylene as charge control agent in an amount of 0À0003-0À5 parts per 1000 parts of carrier liquid. The liquid developer contains 0À5-50 parts of toner per 1000 parts of carrier liquid and has an electrical resistivity (measured in the absence of toner) of at least 5 x 10<SP>10</SP> ohm cm. The ratio of half-alkylamide to diisobutylene may be 1:1 to 1:5. The number of monomeric units in the copolymer may be 4-50. The developer preferably also contains an organic acid. A soluble resin may be employed as fixing agent; or the toner may comprise resin formed in the presence of pigment.
