1355279 Aerials LICENTIA PATENTVERWALTUNGS GmbH 8 Dec 1972 [14 Dec 1971] 56767/72 Heading H4A An aerial feed arrangement comprises a waveguide 1 with an end aperture 2 covered by a dielectric hood 7. A metal ring 4 is disposed on the end of the waveguide 1 'and has a conical surface 5 with an aperture angle a of 230Œ30 degrees. Concentric slots 6 are provided on said surface. The diameter of the ring may be 3#, and there may be at least four slots, having depths of #/4, widths of #/10 to #/20, and spacings apart of #/4 to #/8, where # is the wavelength at the mean working frequency. An serial system comprises such a feed arrangement with a parabolic reflector having an aperture angle between 120 and 80 degrees. The arrangement is stated to promote equality of beam widths in the E and H planes, with improved matching and lower side lobes, over a wide frequency band.
